About us
Who makes Nimbleford: an independent UK field guide to game worlds, with no advertising and no paid placements.
The short story
Nimbleford is a small, independent field guide to video game worlds for readers in the UK. We pick games for the places they take you, play them properly and write one honest entry for each, then point you to the game’s official home.
Why a map
Good games are places as much as they are rules. Laying our favourites out as waypoints on one valley map is our way of saying so: each world has its own terrain, its own pace and its own good spot to stop for the night.
Who is behind it
A handful of people who have played, reviewed and argued about games for many years, plus friends who test accessibility options and family play with us. Nobody writes about a game they have not played.
How it is funded
It is not. There is no advertising, no affiliate offer, no sponsored post and nothing for sale. We host no games, run no accounts and take no payments, so no company has a reason to buy our attention.
Conflicts of interest
If one of us has a personal or professional link to a game, someone else writes the entry and we say so on the page. We accept no gifts in exchange for coverage.
The map and the artwork
The valley map and every illustration were made for us: each cover follows the art style of its own game, from ink wash to pixel art, but none of it is official art, a screenshot or promotional material, and no real people are shown.
Written for UK readers
Plain English, British spelling, no pop-ups, no autoplay and no tracking. Prices and age ratings are left to the official sites, which keep them current.
